More About MeColin Mayo comes from a diverse musical background. Raised in Tarzana California until moving to the east cost at age 13, his music education was ignited by absorbing the varied musical tastes of his three other siblings. Hearing his brother?s friend playing guitar along with a record fascinated Colin and he instantly wanted to play the guitar. Fortunately Colin?s Mother supported his interest and immediately enrolled him in lessons at a very young age.rnrn After being in several bands and playing in high school Colin decided to pursue music more seriously. He studied classical guitar and graduated from Manhattanville College, New York. He then began teaching professionally throughout Westchester County, New York leading to a career as a music teacher. As a result Colin received his Masters degree from the University of Bridgeport as well as a certification from the state of CT to teach music in the public schools. rnrn Colin performs professionally throughout the Tri-State area and incorporates many different styles of music including Latin Jazz band and duets with a flutist. He was also featured on The Martha Stewart Living Program with special guest President William Jefferson Clinton. Colin received a write up in the Arts and Leisure section of the New York Times for his musical talents in an off Broadway play featuring a solo guitar performance. Always involved in charity events, Colin donates his talents to fund raisers, special needs homes and senior citizens? centers throughout the year and especially during the holiday season.
