More About MeMy basic philosophy is that I am very grateful for my life. I live in one of the best places on Earth. I have more money than I need. I own a beautiful but modest house in Montecito. I have no debt. I have the best job in the world. I work with the people that are friendly and competent. My supervisors have all been easy to work for. I have been able to travel all over the world and to go wherever I want whenever I want. I have had a wide variety of jobs, experiences, and friends. I am living in an amazing time for my profession as a computer specialist.nI have been a carpenter in Ohio, cabana boy in Fort Lauderdale, busboy in New Orleans and LA, manager of rock bands in Columbus, Ohio and a teacher of kids from preschool to high school. I also help people fix computer problems, both hardware and software.nIn Santa Barbara I hike, bike, play beach volleyball doubles, stretch daily, drink oakie chardonnays, eat healthfully, enjoy a variety of restaurants from burgers to Bacara, watch the news along with PBS dramas, keep up with my field on the internet, play lap steel guitar and putter around the house. I have not been reading much lately.nI have volunteered with native plant restoration on Santa Cruz Island, catalogued the Montecito history archive, been a Big Brother, and worked for the Democratic Party.nI recently biked from Anaheim to San Diego and walked from Gaviota to Ventura, both in short hops.nI was a Montessori classroom teacher for 30 years. But now I am a computer specialist for two k-6 grade schools. I stay on the cutting edge of new developments. I attended three conferences this summer as a participant and as a presenter.nI have a BA and MA from Ohio State University and an MEd from Notre Dame in Belmont, CA. I also passed the CPA exam in one sitting but never practiced. I have taken lots of computer classes at SBCC.nTravel has always been a big part of my life. My family camped around the US when I was young. I dropped out of college for a year to travel in the US. I spent a year traveling in Europe in a VW van with two young kids. Lately, I have hiked and safaried in South Africa, trekked in Nepal, RV’d in New Zealand, cruised in Alaska and toured in China. My latest trips to Nova Scotia, Cambodia and Vietnam have involved spontaneous scheduling.nI am friendly and love to engage new acquaintances in conversation. I am quick to find humor in everyday situations. I am not religious but believe in being a good person globally and interpersonally. I get along with just about everyone and don’t mind assuming the blame for misunderstandings.nI am confident in my ability to function day to day. I have always been considered intelligent, but I have a terrible time remembering names. I am reasonably good looking with a decent build. But you can look at my photos, can’t you?nI do not take myself or life very seriously. I would not do well with someone into organized religion. I believe that most world problems stem from overpopulation.nI am not looking for the perfect match, Ms Right. I do like strong, confident, intelligent, independent women. I believe in total gender equality and in sharing household responsibilities equally. I enjoy shopping, cooking, and keeping my house clean and tidy.nI would like to meet and spend time with someone who enjoys my company as I do hers. My hope is that I find someone that I grow to love over time through shared joyful experiences. If you would like to meet and explore our chemistry, please get in touch.
