These colorful folk, with their equally colorful stories, had red hair, fair skin, blue eyes and sometimes freckles. The scotch Irish were described in a North Carolina history book quote as, "those quarrelsome people who settled the Carolinas and drank too much."rnrnI spent most of my formative years in Raleigh, North Carolina. After high school, I took a short tour of Mars Hill College and North Carolina State University, finally graduating from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. My first job was with the Chamber of Commerce in Winston Salem, North Carolina. This was followed by a job as a sales representative for IBM. The majority of my working career was spent as a manufacturer's representative in the furniture industry from which I retired after telling many tall tales.
