Dating StatusSEEKING INTROSPECTIVE, EMOTIONALLY-AVAILABLE SOULMATE WHO IS 'NOT ONE OF THE CROWD'
More About MeI would describe myself as a sincere, 'real' person, who is loyal, reliable, sensitive, non-judgmental/ supportive partner, compassionate, complex and a freethinker. I am definitely not your average woman: I enjoy having deep philosophical discussions and have a commitment to social justice values; I don’t have ‘girly conversations’; and I’m not obsessed with babies or hair. lol. A little more about me: I was lucky enough to land a job in Atlanta 4 years ago - the exact city I wanted to be in. Prior to Atlanta, I spent much of my life in the UK. As a child, I also lived for a few years in Nigeria and the US. P.S. I have not yet subscribed to this site as a paying member, however, I will subscribe if someone with an interesting profile sends me a message!
Political Affiliationnon conformist
Who I Would Like to MeetI am not looking for ‘the average man’ (e.g. someone fanatical about football and cars). Essentially, I am looking for someone who doesn’t follow the crowd/ is not afraid to be different. Additionally, I am looking for someone who: *is genuinely looking for a long term relationship/ soulmate*is looking to make a meaningful connection/has a strong capacity for emotional intimacy *shares my view that a couple of good friends is better than multiple shallow friendships *has a commitment to social justice values *is an empathetic and non-judgmental partner
Where You Were RaisedUK, Nigeria, USA
Others NoticeMy accent. Interestingly, while many people (who I meet in person) comment that I am not originally from the US, they don't necessarily recognize that I have a UK accent. However, if I am talking to them on the phone, they IMMEDIATELY say, 'I love your accent. Are you British?'. I think a lot of Americans just can't imagine that a 'black' person would have a UK accent. I think my last name further confuses people, because it is Greek (one of my parents is half Greek/half English). So if I have only spoken to someone on the phone, most people naturally assume I am white; it's amusing (and a little irritating) to see the bewilderment on their faces when I meet them in person! lol
SecretI spent a lot of my youth on my education, and as a result, I must confess that I did not focus enough on my relationships. At this point in my life, I am committed to finding a truly compatible life partner/ ‘soulmate’, and this is at the top of my priorities. Another 'secret': I should also say I am not a camping/ hiking type of person or an 'animal/pets' person...paradoxically, I probably care more about animal rights than many so-called animal lovers in that I can't get my head around eating meat for ethical reasons - I've eliminated red meat from my diet and hardly eat turkey or chicken anymore....I would eventually like to become vegan (I guess that sounded defensive but there seems to be a stigma about not being crazy about pets - so that's my excuse!).
