Political AffiliationI am so disgusted with the current state of affairs in our political system that I can't well support either major party consistently. I am an advocate of Participatory Democracy with the minimal possible scope of government. I believe that our current system, although founded on wonderful principles, is totally broken now from a functional point of view. When we no longer have a genuine writ of habeous corpus, when we are consistently unable to function within our means (size of debt is way out of bounds), and when our poiticians would rather get re-elected than do what is right, and therefore are totally unwilling to compromise, then we are, in my opinion, lost... What we once had may be impossible to reclaim. I don't like that. Yet this my home, my country; and I share with my fellow citizens responsibility for allowing things to get to this state. No sense laying it off on corporations or fat cats. It is our personal responsibility for allowing our governement (the actual culprit) to get us here. I hope that we can get our act together, and am willing to exert personal effort and resources toward that end. But... I am, sadly, pessimistic about the prospects. Tough for me to face this, given how optomistic a person I am overall. So, I don't really have a political affiliation anymore.
