People are inherently hedonistic, so when a bit of pain comes along we think of it as a “bad” thing, rather than just part of the journey of life, to be embraced along with the “good” things. Not that I welcome painful or upsetting events, I just TRY to put them into perspective, notice my thoughts about them and accept them as part of the process of living. I stressed TRY, because , being human, I don’t always catch myself in the act, but hopefully I eventually get around to acceptance and don’t let events dictate my future.
