Where You Were RaisedBorn in Edmonton Alta., a city which has forever been calling me back, though I have wandered far and away beyond it , having left there initially when I was only five years of age. Thereafter my childhood was set in perpetual motion as the folks towed the family off to the United States. Grand Rapids , Michigan became the locus for my start in grade school and education, with Iowa next in line but when the Vietnam war got to raging and their boys were reaching prime, the parents they decided that the Canadian border was looking rather fine. British Columbia had long been calling, and it truly is divine but Prince George was no shangrila especially in those days, but for me it was an adventure and grade 6 gained a whole new pace. Three years we had of living there always waking to that pulp mill taste, till finally finishing grade nine , where upon we landed in summer paradise when Penticton became the family's happy place. It was there that I so very nearly came to complete my high school years with grace. But hold up on that notion for the 70's they were ablaze and Burnaby became my schooling uber site, grade 12 it was no easy case particularly as a new boy in a very metropolitan place. Simon Fraser was soon to follow those University years I truly did embrace.
